CHENNAI, MAY 17. International Master P. Konguvel defeated Syed Anwar Shazuli to remain on the top of the table with 8.5 points in the tenth and penultimate round of the 52nd Tamil Nadu State Chess Championship for V.J. Brahmiah Trophy at Kesari School, Mylapore, on Monday. C. Praveen Kumar, K. Gunasekaran, Ram S. Krishnan and T. S. Ravi are at the second position with 8 points.
