TIRUMALA, MAY 18. The former Prime Minister, H.D. Deve Gowda, participated in the predawn ritual, `Suprabhatham,' at the Lord Venkateswara temple in the wee hours of Tuesday. Gowda, who turned 72, on Tuesday, arrived at the temple town on Monday night, along with his family members. Talking to media persons, Gowda who declined to comment on current politics, said he had come only to seek the blessings of the presiding diety. When repeatedly questioned as to who would form the next Government in Karnataka, in the wake of the fractured electoral verdict of the people of the State, he said the political process was on and that would not like to make any comments. Asked, whether he would support the newly formed United Progressive Alliance under the stewardship of the Congress party president, Sonia Gandhi, he said "I am anyhow going to Delhi today. After all it is a secular front." Earlier, in a simple function Deve Gowda cut the birthday cake at the guesthouse, in the presence of his family members. Later, he proceeded to Tiruchanoor to visit the temple of goddess Padmavathi, about 25 kilometres from here.
