BJP MLA-elect to quit party posts
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
MAY 18.
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha president, G. Kishen Reddy, has said that he will resign from the post and other party positions he is holding in the State on being elected MLA from the Himayatnagar Assembly constituency.
Mr. Reddy said today that along with the BJYM presidentship, he would be giving up the posts of State general secretary and that of the official spokesman soon.
The lone BJP MLA elected from the twin cities this time said that he would like to concentrate on developing his constituency.
"People have elected me with a good majority despite the Congress wave throughout the State. I have to live up to my voters' expectations," he pointed out.
Being the only party MLA to be elected from Telangana and Rayalaseema, he is also determined to shore up the party.
"I have been an active worker of the party for many years and it's my responsibility to create confidence among our activists both in the city and rural areas. We will agitate against the Government if its policies affect the people adversely," he said.
