Vikram Saralaya is champion
MANGALORE,
MAY 18.
Vikram Saralaya of MGM College, Udupi, won the Srikrishna Trophy in the open category in the inter-district open rapid chess tournament here on Sunday.
The event was organised by Sri Krishna College of Computer Sciences in association with Derik's Chess School. Vikram logged 4.5 points from five rounds. Vishwas Saralaya of T.A. Pai English Medium School came second with 4 points.
College Secretary, Narasinga Rao, inaugurated the tournament. Srikrishna Kadabanniah, founder of the College, distributed the prizes.
The placings: Open category: 1. Vikram Saralaya, 2. Vishwas Saralaya, 3-5. Prajwal D'Silva, Prakash V. Rao and Prasanna Rao.
Boys (under-10): 1. Prajwal Salian, 2. Anuj D'Souza, 3. Niranjan Bhat; under 15: 1. Sanjay J. Rao, 2. R. Kaushik, 3. Sai Prashanth.
Girls (under-15): 1. Iora M. Pinto, 2. Manasa Shetty, 3. Prajna D'Silva; special prize: Ankita.
