CHAMARAJANAGAR, MAY 18. A man, who was injured in a road accident involving a jeep and a motorcycle near Booditittu Cross on BR Hills-Chamarajanagar Road on Monday, died on the way to hospital. Another person was also injured in the accident. The dead has been identified as Raju Naik (45), former vice-president of the Jyothi Gowdanapura Gram Panchayat in the taluk. The injured, Mahadev Naik of Tayur, was shifted to KR Hospital in Mysore. The accident took place when Raju Naik failed to avoid the jeep near the cross. The East Police, Chamarajanagar, have registered a case. The jeep driver has surrendered to the police.
