MBBS applications from June 1

CHENNAI, MAY 18. The application and prospectus for admission to I-year MBBS/BDS and para-medical courses for 2004-2005 will be issued at all government medical colleges, the Tamil Nadu Government Dental College, Chennai, and the Government College of Physiotherapy, Tiruchi, from June 1 to 11 up to 3 p.m.

Completed application forms will be received at the office of the Selection Committee here till 5 p.m., June 11.

The applications will be scrutinised and the merit list published. Candidates will be called for counselling on the basis of the merit list and allotted the college of their choice during counselling to be held at the office of the committee. Counselling will begin on July 1.

PG courses

Counselling for postgraduate degree/diploma and 5-year* M.Ch. (Neuro Surgery)/MDS courses will begin on May 21. Candidates will be allotted seats in government colleges and the government quota of seats in self-financing institutions. Counselling for postgraduate courses will be conducted at the office of the Selection Committee, Kilpauk, here: May 21, 9.30 a.m. for ranks 1-100 and 2.30 p.m. for ranks 101-202; May 22, 9.30 a.m. for ranks 203-350 and 2.30 p.m. for ranks 351-502; May 23, 9.30 a.m. for ranks 503-650 and 2.30 p.m. for ranks 651-800; and May 24, 9-30 a.m. for ranks 801-951 and 2.30 p.m. for ranks 952-1111.

Counselling for MDS will be held at the same venue on May 21. Rank numbers 1-100 have been slotted for 9.30 a.m. and ranks 101-200 will be called after 2.30 p.m. Candidates should bring all original certificates when they come for counselling.

They should bring a demand draft for Rs. 5,000 drawn in favour of the Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai 600 010, payable in Chennai and submit it at the time of receiving the allotment order, according to a release. Individual call letters will be sent to the eligible candidate, according to merit. Those who are in the merit list but do not receive the call letter can contact the Secretary, Selection Committee, 162, Periyar EVR High Road, Kilpauk.
