MUMBAI, MAY 18. Normal life came to a standstill in several parts of Mumbai tonight due to a major power failure disrupting train services in the city. The power failure occurred due to the snapping of supplies from Tata Power Ltd.'s (TPL) 1300 MW Trombay unit at 9.16 p.m., which caused disturbances in distribution to BEST and Reliance Energy Ltd, service providers in the metropolis. The entire north, south and part of eastern Mumbai, including Chembur, were plunged into darkness
