MANGALORE, MAY 18. Nandikeshwara Nataka Sangha, a drama troupe, will stage a series of plays from May 29 in the city. P.B. Rai, proprietor of the sangha, told presspersons here today that Tulu and Kannada plays would be staged by his troupe, which would present 25 plays in 300 shows in three months. Each play would last two-and-a-half hours, Mr. Rai said. The sangha, which had been staging plays in rural areas of the State for the past 21 years, had actors such as Appu Raja, Raghavendra Rai, Deepak Rai, Shilpa Rani, and Kavita in its plays. The shows would begin at 3.45 p.m. and 7.15 p.m. at the NGO Auditorium on weekdays and there would be an additional show at 10.45 a.m. on weekends, Mr. Rai, who has also directed the plays, said. Some of the plays that would be staged included "Manege Banda Mahalakshmi," "Rakthakaneeru," and "Anna, Thangi, Attige." The first play to be staged at 6.45 p.m. on May 29 would be "Mudukanna Madhuve," Mr. Rai said.
