Girl dies of suspected cholera

NAMAKKAL, MAY 19. Health officials are camping in the Kadachanal area near Pallipalayam in Namakkal distinct after several persons complained of nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea in the past few days.

Sources confirmed that a girl, Ashwini, of Ramadas village in Kadachanallur panchayat died on May 15 after being treated for symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting. About 10 people were also being treated in nearby hospitals for similar complaints. The Collector, D. Rajendran, has deputed the Health Department officials to Kadachanllur..
