Arumugam in semifinals

COIMBATORE, MAY 19. The fifth seed, G. Arumugam of MFSC, struggled a bit midway but recovered to score a thrilling 25-23, 20-25, 25-22 win over a fighting Alex Amulraj of RSC in the quarterfinal round of the second district ranking prize money carrom tournament at the SM Mahal here on Wednesday.

The results: Quarterfinals: M. Natraj (IA) bt Shanmugaraja (MCC) 25-24, 25-0; T.J. Thangakumar (RSC) bt S. Ravi (NKTM) 25-18, 25-4; R.K. Sundarraj (RSC) bt Manikandan (MFCC) 25-15, 25-22; G. Arumugam bt A. Alex Amulraj.
