PONDICHERRY, MAY 19. The Pondicherry government has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of P. Shanmugam, retired judge, Madras High Court, to determine the fee structure for unaided private teacher training institutions in the Union Territory. A press release from the Director of School Education, G. Theva Neethi Dhas, said the committee would fix the fee structure after collecting details like infrastructural facilities, capital expenditure incurred and recurring expenditure for the staff and per capita for students from the institutions. The teacher training institutions have been advised not to fix any fee structure for the teacher- training course for the academic year 2004-05, he said and added that the institutions had to collect fees as fixed by the committee.
