BIDAR, MAY 19. The police today claimed that they had solved a murder case within a day after a complaint was lodged by the brother of the victim at Basavakalyan. A press release said Kanteppa Fatehpur filed a complaint on Monday stating that his brother, Tukaram (40), was killed two months ago. He had realised it only after seeing a photograph of his brother's body at the Basavakalyan Rural police station. A team was formed to solve the case. Investigation by the team revealed that Nandappa Ningareddy (36) of Hallikhed (B), who had an illicit relationship with Tukaram's wife, had committed the murder along with his friend, Shankar Londappanavar (30) of Sindabandagi. The accused had taken Tukaram to Amritkund near Chandkapur village in Basavakalyan taluk on March 13 and murdered him. They were produced before the magistrate, the press release said.
