Sangha's plea to secular forces
By Our Special Correspondent
BANGALORE,
MAY 19.
The Karnataka Pradesh Kurubara Sangha has appealed to all secular forces to support the State unit President of the Janata Dal (Secular), Siddaramaiah, for the post of Chief Minister.
Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, the sangha president, Lakshmanrao A. Changale, and the general secretary, K. Doddanna, said the Kuruba community was one of the largest backward castes in the State, but still nobody from it had become the Chief Minister.
Given the fractured verdict, the Congress should give the post of Chief Minister to the Janata Dal (S). It should support Mr. Siddaramaiah, who belonged to the community, for the post, they said.
