Training for college teachers

CHENNAI, MAY 19. Anna University's Centre for Faculty Development (CFD) will train engineering college teachers in emerging technologies in May and June.

Training in `re-engineering teaching skills' will be held every week to improve the teachers' expertise in a subject and in planning and preparing lessons. They will aim at developing expertise in preparing examination question papers, says a university release.

Unlike as in conventional refresher programmes, during these faculty development training programmes, senior faculty members will be engaged as facilitators to guide participants in preparing lesson plans, notes and overhead projections/slides.

Experts and faculty members will evaluate and suggest improvements in delivery of lectures and guide the preparation of question papers.
