KARIMNAGAR, MAY 20. Sikhs in Karimnagar town celebrated the former Union Finance Minister, Manmohan Singh's appointment to the post of Prime Minister here on Thursday. Sikh youth took out a massive motorcycle rally from the Sikhwadi to Rajiv chowk, garlanded former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi's statue and distributed sweets. They also burst crackers and congratulated each other. The state secretary of the NSUI, Upender Singh Bittu, the president of Gurudwara Prabandak Committee, Sardar Kashmir Singh, its secretary, Jaswanth Singh, its treasurer, Aji Singh, and others participated in the procession which passed through all important streets. They thanked the AICC president, Sonia Gandhi, for appointing Dr. Singh. They termed the decision as secular and historic and said that Dr. Singh would transform India and its economy with his programmes of reform.
