THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MAY 21. The Kerala State Electricity Board Engineers' Association has asked the Government to retain the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) in the public sector in its present shape, while at the same time making it more people-friendly. The Board should be made accountable to the people and be in a position to fulfil its responsibilities to the consumers. This can be achieved only through a professional management system with a free rein, said Cherian Oommen and S.K. Yesodharan, the president and general secretary respectively, of the Association. The 51st annual meeting of the general body of the Association, which is to be held at Alappuzha, on May 23, would be deliberating on all these and other related issues, they said. A seminar on "Consumer rights in Power utilities in the Present scenario" would also be held in this connection, they added.
