BOBL branch at Indore
INDORE: The private sector, Bharat Overseas Bank, (BOBL), with its headquarters in Chennai, opened its first branch here as part of its expansion plan. The Indore branch, the bank's 85th, was opened by Gauri Singh, Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Financial Corporation.
The bank's Chairman and Managing Director, G. Krishna Murthy, later told newspersons that BOBL had achieved a net profit of Rs. 35.08 crores during 2003-04 against Rs. 28.52 crores in 2002-03, a growth of 23 per cent. He said the bank had declared 2004-05 as the `Year of Retail Bank' and the SMEs and retail banking would be the focus at Indore branch.
