SJCE keeps title

MYSORE, MAY 21. Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysore, defeated Bapuji Institute of Technology (BIET), Davangere, 62-54 to retain the VTU inter-collegiate basketball tournament (Mysore Region) on Thursday. Captain Priya Ram top-scored with 32 points for the winner.

Sunil Jajur of BIET, Davangere, was adjudged the player of the tournament.

The results: Final: SJCE, Mysore, 62 (Priya Ram 32, M.S. Sandeep 12) bt BIET, Davangere, 54 (Santosh Jajur 24, Sunil Jajur 14).

Semifinals: SJCE 59 ( Priya Ram 17, Gautham 15) bt VVCE, Mysore, 47 (Sanjay 18, Naveen 10); BIET 80 (Santosh Jajur 23, K.P. Bharath 12) bt NIE, Mysore, 45 (Biligiri 24).
