VIJAYAWADA, MAY 21. Rich tributes were paid to the former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, on his 13th death anniversary on Friday. Congress leaders including the APCC secretary, Malladi Vishnu and APCC member, M. Rajeswara Rao, garlanded the statue of Rajiv Gandhi at the Rajiv Gandhi park in the city. Mr. Vishnu recalled the contribution of the former Prime Minister in giving a thrust to Information Technology and industrial development. The Congress OBC cell general secretary, Kolanukonda Sivaji, city Youth Congress president, Badiga Shankar and the VMC standing committee chairperson Matta Vijaya Kumari were present. GUNTUR: The Congress is making efforts to provide a pro-farmer administration that will put a complete stop to suicide by farmers, the District Congress Committee president, Rayapati Srinivas, said at a.meeting organised in Chagantivaripalem in Sattenapalli mandal to remember the former Prime Minister.
