Cop held on theft charge

HYDERABAD, MAY 21. A constable of Dabeerpura police station, Venkateswarlu, was arrested two days ago by the Gopalapuram police on the charge of stealing a motorcycle. "The constable lured a youngster by assuring him a job, took his bike and left," the Gopalapuram ACP, Saheb Peer, said on Friday.

The accused had been abstaining from duty for the last 15 days. He was remanded to judicial custody.
