MAHABUBNAGAR, MAY 22. The constitution of the State Cabinet on Saturday has disappointed followers of many Legislators who aspired for a berth. Former Minister and Shadnagar MLA, Dr. P. Shankar Rao, TRCCC Chief and MLA from Wanaparthy, G. Chinna Reddy, the Kodangal MLA, Gurunath Reddy, Makthal MLA, Chittem Narsi Reddy, and Achampet MLA, Vamshi Krishna, aspired for a berth in the State Ministry. The followers of Shankar Rao and Chinna Reddy were confident that their MLAs would be accommodated in the ministry. But according to sources in the Congress circles here, their "attitude" towards the Chief Minister ,Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, in the recent times might have thwarted their chances. The sources recalled that Shanker Rao had backed the candidature of D. Srinivas for the Chief Minister's post and as such was not favoured. With regard to Chinna Reddy, the Wanaparthy MLA irked Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy when he insisted that the latter's yatra should pass Telangana only after clearing his stand on the issue of separate Telangana. It is said that Narsi Reddy tried for a place in the ministry through AICC spokesperson S. Jaipal Reddy. However, the Congress circles here are hopeful that at least one or two aspirants may get Ministerial berths at least in the next expansion which is expected very soon.
