TIRUCHI, MAY 22 . The City today registered a maximum temperature of 37.6 degree Celsius and a minimum of 26.6 degree Celsius.

Woman fatally knocked down

An old woman was killed after she was hit by a bus near the Kadiakurichi bus stop near the city tonight.

The police said the bus was on its way to Perugamani from Main Guard Gate when the incident occurred. The Jeeyapuram police are investigating.

TNEB directive

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has announced that consumers in the following areas of the City will have to remit the amount paid by them in March towards power charges for the current billing cycle as meter readings could not be taken due to unavoidable administrative reasons:

Subramaniapuram, Kiliyur, Koothaipar and Krishnasamudiram in Tiruverambur division, Panaiyakurichi, Kamaraj Nagar and Thangeswari Nagar in Ariyamangalam division. The power charges have to be paid before June 15.
