COIMBATORE, MAY 22 . The president of the Coimbatore District Unit of the Retired Officials Association, N. Umathanu, has clarified that his call to the pensioners (for getting the compounded pension benefit arrears) that appeared in these columns on Saturday pertained only to the members of the district unit of the association. The association had given a call to its members in the wake of the Madras High Court directing the State Government to settle and disperse at least 60 per cent of the pension benefits to the members of the association, which had moved a writ petition before the court.
