BANGALORE,
MAY 22.
A BESCOM release said the machine would be enabled to accept Rs. 500 rupee notes soon.
This was the fifth of the 20 ATPs to be installed by BESCOM, the release said.
To use the machine, the customers would have to place the voucher or bill in the designated spot under the barcode scanner and the ATP would start functioning automatically and prompt the customer further, the release said.
The ATP would capture the data from the bill and display the details on the monitor.
The customer would then have to choose the mode of payment cheque, cash or demand draft. Once the amount was confirmed by the customer, the ATP would prompt you to "insert cash/cheque".
The cheques would be sucked in while the customer should insert the notes one by one. The machine would issue acknowledgements automatically.
A customer support executive would be stationed initially at the ATP, the release said.
