Cyclist dies in road mishap

VIJAYAWADA, MAY 24. A 22-year-old cyclist was crushed to death by a lorry on the High School Road, Patamata, on Monday morning.

The victim, M.D. Dawood, a casual labourer, was proceeding on a bicycle along with another labourer when the lorry coming in the opposite direction knocked him down. While Dawood died on the spot, his friend escaped.

The Patamata police seized the lorry and took the driver into custody.
