Letters to the Editor
Sir, The barbaric and inhuman treatment of the Iraqi Prisoners of War at the Abu Ghraib jail goes to prove the apathy and the shamelessly callous attitude of the so-called champions of liberalism and democratic virtues. George W. Bush, by virtue of being the supreme commander of the American armed forces, should own up moral as well as legal responsibility for the incidents.
Mayank Kedia,
Sir, The pictures of abuse display unprecedented levels of sadism and contempt for human life.
Gauri Venkatesan,
Sir, It is surprising that the U.S. has not released all the photographs. This leads to speculation on the part played by top U.S. officials in the abuse.
Srilakshmi Kannan,
Sir, The whole episode is shocking, despicable and condemnable. The blatant violation of human rights and provisions of the Geneva Convention show that all norms are meaningless in the face of American authoritarianism.
Azeez Nazar Sabri,
