HYDERABAD, MAY 26. As many as eight Ministers assumed charge on Wednesday and moved into their chambers in the Secretariat.

They signed their first files amidst camera clicks and arc lights and addressed the press with the common announcement that the works and decisions of their respective departments under the previous Government would be reviewed and, if necessary, reversed.

Today's occupants were the Ministers for Endowments, Social Welfare, Information & Public Relations, Roads & Buildings, Animal Husbandry, Municipal Administration, Major Industries and Labour & Employment -- M. Satyanarayana Rao, D. S. Redya Naik, Mohd Ali Shabbir, Jakkampudi Rammohana Rao, G. Surya Rao, Koneru Ranga Rao, Bothsa Satyanarayana and G. Vinod.

With this, only N. Rajyalakshmi who was given Primary Education, did not take charge. All others of the 24-member strong Cabinet, excluding the Chief Minister, have begun discharging their duties as Ministers. The Minister for Higher Education, P. Venkateswara Rao, released the EAMCET results in the morning.

The Major Irrigation Minister, P. Lakshmaiah, said he would begin work from his chambers on Saturday. Mr Satyanarayana Rao turned out to be cynosure of eyes for the day.

The additional Endowments Commissioner, A. B. Krishna Reddy, escorted him to his chamber in "J" block amidst chanting of the Vedas by priests. The Minister utilised the occasion to appeal to partymen not to hanker after posts and stand by the Chief Minister. Mr. Satyanarayana Rao declared that he would look into the `misutilisation' of Godavari Pushkaram funds. The Social Welfare Minister, Mr. Redya Naik, strode the same path, announcing that he would have a fresh look into the scholarship muddle.
