HYDERABAD, MAY 26. D. Muralikrishna, a senior IAS officer, who served the Government in various capacities in the past three decades, died in the wee hours of Wednesday at Care Hospital here following complications due to jaundice. He was 58. He is survived by wife and two children. Muralikrishna relinquished office recently as Principal Secretary, General Administration Department, taking voluntary retirement. His body was cremated at Bansilal crematorium here in the evening. He belonged to the 1972 batch of IAS. Being a ghazal singer, he was popular as an artiste also and was awarded the title `Ghazal Gandharva.' Among the important posts he held in the Government were MD, Republic Forge, Commissioner for Information & Public Relations, Principal Secretary, Home, and Principal Secretary, Revenue. The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, expressed deep shock and grief over the death of Muralikrishna. He conveyed his condolences to members of the bereaved family.
