ALAPPUZHA, MAY 26 . One person was killed and 60 others were injured when a private bus proceeding from Adoor to Kayamkulam collided with a KSRTC bus on the Kayamkulam-Punaloor Road, near Karimulakkal LPS, Nooranad at 10.15 a.m. today. The police identified the deceased as Salim (32), Kochumukal Ayyathu, Aadikkattukulamgara, Adoor. Mr. Salim was the driver of the KSRTC bus. He had been working as an empanelled driver for the past four years. Madhu, driver of the private bus and a resident of Olakeetiyambalam in the district, and a passenger, Suhra Beevi (30), Thayyil Kizhakkathil, have been admitted to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. The other injured have been admitted to Century Hospital, Mulakkuzha, St. Thomas Mission Hospital, Kattanam and KCM Hospital, Nooranad. According to eyewitnesses, the front portion of the private bus, Harishree Motors, was completely damaged in the collision. The injured who have been admitted to the St. Thomas Hospital, Kattanam are Sivaraman, Kuttiyude Thekkathil, Erumakkuzhy, Prakash who is a resident of Adoor, Ravindran Pillai, Akhilalayam, Adoor, Natarajan, Rajesh Bhavan, Pullikkanakku, Thulasi Kunjamma, village officer, Nooranad, Shamsuddin, Kalluvilayil, Aadikkattukulamgara, Thara, Rama Bhavan, Thamarakkulam, Indira, Pulikkalayyath, Ilamanoor.
