CFTRI retains title
MYSORE,
MAY 26.
Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore retained the overall team title in the inter-Institutional sports tournament for Central Government organisations in Mysore City (for men) conducted by the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore at its campus here on Wednesday.
Around 250 participants from 22 departments took part in the sports events. The prizes to the winners were distributed by Usha Mathur, DRM, South Western Railway, Mysore.
The results: Table tennis: singles: 1. S. Gururaj (CFTRI); 2. R. Srinivas (Sr. Railways). Doubles: 1. S. Gururaj/A.S. Chauhan (CFTRI); 2. D. Sathyanarayan/P.K. Dawan (RBI, Mysore). Team event: 1. Sr. Railways; 2. CFTRI.
Carrom: Singles: 1. V. Venkatesh (CFTRI); 2. Abdul Munaf (DFRL). Doubles: 1. V. Venkatesh/S. Gururaj (CFTRI); 2. Bhim Rao/Nagesh (BSNL). Team: 1. CFTRI; 2. BSNL.
Badminton: Singles: 1. Ramesh (CFTRI); 2. Thirumalai Gopalan (University of Mysore). Doubles: 1. Ramesh/Murali Mohan (CFTRI); 2. Parthasarathi/Thirumalai Gopalan (University of Mysore). Team: 1. CFTRI; 2. UOM, Mysore.
Chess: 1. Sadashiva Kondana (EPF); 2. G. Ravishankar (CFTRI).
