MANGALORE, MAY 26. The Chairman of the Karnataka State Minorities Commission, K.S. Mohammed Masood, on Tuesday visited Adyarpadavu, Valachilpadavu, and other places in the district where cases of assault and violent incidents were reported recently. He also visited the house of Jagadish Poojary, who was hacked to death at Valachilpadavu, and consoled the members of his family. A woman complained to Mr. Masood about the reported police inaction in arresting those responsible for the violence. He also took note of the fact that many members of the minority community were forced to flee their houses in wake of the violence in the areas. Mr. Masood was accompanied by the office-bearers of the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district Central Muslim Committee, and Hameed Kandak, president of the Karnataka Muslim Parishat.
