BANGALORE, MAY 26. A man allegedly stabbed his friend fatally during a quarrel over a bottle of beer at Kacharakanahalli on Hennur Main Road in Banaswadi Police Station limits on Tuesday.

The police said the accused, Keshav, a labourer, and his friend, Naveen, an employee of a finance company, both aged about 25, bought six bottles of beer for another person and kept them in a safe place on Tuesday. But when they returned in the evening, they found a bottle missing.

They quarrelled over the issue. Naveen allegedly assaulted Keshav. In retaliation, Keshav broke a bottle, allegedly stabbed Naveen with it and threw a boulder on him. Naveen died at a private hospital. Keshav, who was injured in the brawl, has been arrested and admitted to a hospital.

The Sadashivanagar police have arrested a man, who impersonated a Labour Inspector and a Labour Commissioner to cheat people.

They said Shivaram, alias Nakali Narasimhaiah (38) of Anjipuradoddi in Sathnur near Kanakapura relieved private security agencies of cash by making false claims.

The Hennur police have arrested Murugesan (32) of Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu in connection with the murder of Chaitra (38) of Narayanpura. The police said he had an affair with Chaitra.
