All of the Fine Arts College seems a stage these days, showcasing the finest works of the final year BFA students. For the second year running, the college is playing host to `Degree Show' - a programme where each student gets to display his or her talent before the public, before passing out of the college portals. This year, the exhibition began on May 24 and will go on till June 2. Apart from being a forum for students to display their art, Degree Show has also become an occasion for various employers to judge the merit of these students. "We have had companies in Technopark recruiting students as animators and graphics artists after viewing their work in last year's Degree Show. Other employers also came last year and are coming this year too," says Ajay Kumar, Principal of the Fine Arts College. Each student gets up to six works of art to display. Degree Show involves all the departments in the college such as the Painting Department and the Applied Arts Department. Each classroom in the college today resembles a gallery, with the artists themselves taking visitors through their paintings and sculptures.
According to Mr. Ajay Kumar the college has plans to upgrade Degree Show into a national event in the coming years.
