C.C. Somaiah leads the pack

BANGALORE, MAY 27. C.C. Somaiah, with a score of five over 77, led in the Category A (15 to 17 years) on the opening day of the Eagleton South Zone juniors and sub-juniors golf tournament here on Thursday. Somaiah carded 40 on the front nine and improved to log 37 on the back nine.

In Category B (13-14 years), N. Sharmila led on the opening day with a score of 85. Udayan Mane and Abhinav Suresh (91 each) lay in the second spot.

Rahul Shankar (100) was the day's leader in Category C (11 to 12 years) and Akash Srinivasan and Krishna Bhat (102 each) jointly led in Category D.

The results (first round): Category A: C.C. Somaiah (77), Bhavna Shetty (82), Prabhat Jadhav (86), Neel Muthanna (95), Warren Dodsworth (97), Abhiram Uday (108).

Category B: N Sharmila (85), Udayan Mane and Abhinav Suresh (91), Keshav Rajan (98), Wayne Dodsworth (100), R Shashank (108) and Vidwath Shetty (113).

Category C: Rahul Shankar (100), Jairus Antony (102), Prannoy Jacob (107), Namith Gambhir (111) and Sarthak Verma (116).

Category D: Akash Srinivasan, Krishna Bhat (102 each), Shiv Naraine (104) and Raghav Sarda (132).
