PONDICHERRY, MAY 27. A uniform set of recruitment rules for government jobs, monthly stipend for the unemployed and job appointments based on seniority, were some of the demands made by the Pondicherry Unemployed Youth Federation. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Jayakumar and Arunachalam of the Federation said over 1,50,000 youth had registered with the employment exchange in Pondicherry. Over the last three years several government posts had remained vacant. They would hold a dharna on May 31, demanding the setting up of a subordinate service selection board to fill in the vacancies.
