Sir, As a fallout of the Lok Sabha election results, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, has reversed most of the `hard' decisions taken by her during the past three years of the AIADMK rule. Bowing to the verdict of the electorate is one thing and taking policy decisions for governance is another. If she was convinced that some of her decisions were meant for the overall benefit of the State, she need not have rolled back all the measures in one stroke. Truly said, the politician thinks about the next election while the statesman thinks of the next generation.

Sir, The Jayalalithaa Government may attribute many reasons for the total rout of the AIADMK in the Lok Sabha elections. But it cannot ignore the voters' judgment considering various factors that led to this major blow. Some of the sensitive issues such as scrapping of H ration card, personal vendetta and water scarcity were responsible for the defeat.
