Shop damaged in bomb attack near Nadapuram

KOZHIKODE,
MAY 27
. A stationery shop belonging to Chandu Chandy Rajan, a CPI (M) sympathiser, was damaged in a bomb explosion at Koodavad at Cheeyuril, three km from Nadapuram, at 2-30 a.m. today.
The North Zone Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Nitin Aggarwal, and the Kozhikode City Police Commissioner, T.K.Vinod Kumar, visited the spot. The bomb squad and scientific experts also collected evidence this morning.
Mr. Vinod Kumar, who is temporarily holding the charge of Superintendent of Police (Kozhikode- Rural), said that the Vadakara Dy. SP, Sasikumar, had been entrusted with the task of investigating the case. The services of the senior scientific officers from the State capital had also been sought to examine and analyse the case.
The police have been directed to monitor the situation in the area. Raids would be carried out in the sensitive Nadapuram and its adjoining areas in the coming days, Mr.Vinod Kumar said..
