NEW DELHI, MAY 27. Aiming to reach out to children through the medium of music, the National Bal Bhavan today released a book of songs titled "Sancharan'' based on environment-related issues to increase awareness on the issue. While the songs have been penned by the director of National Bal Bhavan, Madhu Pant, the book has been designed by children themselves. "The idea came about a few weeks ago when we had organised a workshop for children here. The cover of the booklet, graphics, screen printing and page-making for the book has been done entirely by the children. We even choose to use Bamboo paper to make the book environment-friendly,'' said Dr.Pant. At the function, India's first Prime Minister was also fondly remembered. "It is a very well known fact that `Chacha Nehru' - as he was lovingly called by children - was very close to nature. And so while we remember him on his death anniversary today, we also choose to work on an issue that can become a mass movement,'' said director, National Bal Bhavan, Madhu Pant. While the children presented a few songs - "Prakriti Vardhan'', "Tumhara Saathi'', "Tumhara Ek Dost'' and "Pani'' - from the book at the function today, they also remembered `Chacha Nehru'.
