Scheme for industrial institutes

By Our Special Correspondent

JAIPUR, MAY 27. The Rajasthan Government has launched an industrial institute participatory scheme to ensure optimum utilisation of the resources and facilities available in the Government industrial training institutes.

Under the scheme's first phase, a partial facility of building and furniture will be provided for running the technical and professional course with the private sector's cooperation in the institutes run by the State Government. The participants in the scheme will supply all tools and equipment to the trainees.

An official release issued here today stated that four proposals had been sanctioned for the first part of the scheme. While 32 and 16 candidates in Dholpur and Bhiwadi, respectively, will be imparted training in electrical systems, the capacity of 95 trainees has been fixed for the courses on computer operations and programming, hair and skin care and dress making at the Women's Industrial Training Institute in Alwar. Besides, 16 trainees will be sent to the industrial training institute at Kapasan for computer operations and programming. As part of the scheme's second phase, seven proposals have been sanctioned for training in the spheres such as mechanics, electronics and motor vehicle mechanics in Bhiwadi, Kotputli, Chirawa, Rajgarh, Merta City, Sawai Madhopur and Karauli. The release said the scheme would be operative in the new session of 2004-05 beginning in July this year with the emphasis on the employment-oriented professional courses. The scheme will facilitate establishment of 21 new units in the 10 Government industrial training institutes in the State and increase their intake capacity by 400.
