Visa racket busted

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, MAY 27. Three persons allegedly trying to sell fake Canadian visa stickers have been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police. Three visa stickers were recovered from their possession.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), Deependra Pathak, the Special Investigation Team received a tip-off that some persons were looking for those interested in buying Canadian visas. Suspecting that they were duping people, the police sent a decoy to strike a deal. Two of the suspects demanded Rs. 1.5 lakh per visa sticker and asked the decoy to meet them near Shipra Hotel at Laxmi Nagar in East Delhi on Tuesday.

While they were delivering the Canadian visas, the police arrested them. They recovered three visa stickers, which later turned out to be fake, from their possession. During interrogation, the duo identified themselves as Ravinder Singh Ahluwalia and Baldev Singh, residents of Punjab. They disclosed that they had got the stickers from one Paramjit Singh, following which the police arrested him from Mohan Nagar.
