KOTTAYAM, MAY 28. The K.T. Thomas Committee for Unaided Professional Colleges today announced the fee structure for MBBS and BDS courses. The maximum annual tuition fee for the MBBS course has been put at Rs. 1.13 lakhs and for the BDS course, Rs. 76,000. In addition, the managements could charge a refundable caution deposit not exceeding Rs.10,000 and other fees the student has to pay to the university. The fee structure would be applicable to students admitted for the next three years starting 2004-05. The Government had fixed the annual tuition fee for MBBS in self-financing medical colleges tentatively at Rs. 1.76 lakhs last year. The tuition fee for nursing, pharmacy, ayurveda and siddha courses would be announced on June 10.
