PUDUKOTTAI, MAY 28. Three labourers were buried alive when they got stuck in the loose soil while desilting a private well at Viralimalai near here today. The deceased were identified as Periyaiah (45), Raju (40) and Murugiah (29) of Vadagupatti. The bodies were retrieved by fire service personnel. Viralimalai police have registered a case.
Two youths killed
Two youths were killed when the car in which they were travelling dashed against a tamarind tree near Aranthangi today. Jaffar Sadiq (30) and Jinnah (35), both of Arasakulam near Aranthangi, were returning from Tiruchi, when the accident occurred. While Jaffar Sadiq was killed on the spot, Jinnah succumbed to injuries later. The Aranthangi police have registered a case.
