Law Ministry denial

NEW DELHI, MAY 28. The Union Law Ministry has denied a newspaper report that the Law Ministry had "okayed" a proposal to reduce the retirement age [of Central Government staff] from 60 to 58. In a press note, it said the news item and the facts stated therein were totally incorrect. "The Law Ministry has not received any reference from the Department of Personnel nor has this Ministry given its opinion on the above subject."
