Rain likely in some areas

A spell of rain or thundershowers are likely in some areas. Maximum temperature would be around 37 Degree Celsius. At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 33.6 Degree Celsius and the minimum was 27.4 Degree Celsius respectively on Friday. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 75 per cent and at 5.30 p.m was 72 per cent. At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 36.8 Degree Celsius and 28.2 Degree Celsius respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 65 per cent and at 5.30 p.m was 58 per cent. The maximum and minimum temperatures at the Dolphin's Nose were 33.2 deg. C and 24.8 deg. C respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 77 per cent.

Painting contest

A painting competition to create environmental awareness among children is being organised by the Bala Vikas Foundation at the N.T. College in Akkayyapalem on Sunday. EAMCET ranker feted

M. Krishna Teja, who bagged the top rank from north Andhra in the EAMCET (Engineering), was awarded a gold medal by the Mayor, Rajana Ramani, at a felicitation function held on Thursday. He is the son of an Assistant Engineer in the Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, M.S.K. Prasad.

Bus frequency increased

The RTC has increased the frequency of route No.'s 20 A and 900 for the convenience of commuters. While 20 A will be available at intervals of five minutes during peak hours, route No. 900 will be available at intervals of 10 minutes. The last service of 20 A will leave Old Post Office Junction at 10.30 p.m. and the last service of 900 will leave at Maddilapalem and Railway Station at 10 p.m.
