BANGALORE, MAY 29. The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has revived a series on the brain called, Brain Story, which it first telecast four years ago on one of its channels, BBC2. The series is now being telecast on BBC World, a news and information channel. The series tries to answer some questions on the brain. To promote the programme, BBC has been holding previews. The first preview was held at the India Habitat Centre in Delhi. On Friday, a preview was held at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS). On its website, BBC says Brain Story will examine how the brain controls every aspect of our being from movement to the emotions. It also explores "our ability to learn and adapt" though fossil records have shown that the human brain has not changed significantly for thousands of years. Scientists continue to struggle with questions such as is the mind separate from the brain or are all our experiences mere chemical reactions in the brain. For viewers of the programme, it is a chance to share that quest to `know', at least for a while.
