VISAKHAPATNAM, MAY 29. The Vice-Chancellor, Y.C. Simhadri, on Saturday released the results of Andhra University Common Entrance Test (AUCET) conducted at different centres in the State from May 14 to 20. As many as 39,611 students appeared for the test conducted for admission to 36 post-graduate courses in science, arts and engineering in the university colleges, post-graduate centres and also affiliated colleges. While 25,063 students apply for courses in science, 13,479 appeared in arts and 1,069 in engineering courses. Women numbered 12,625. Women topped the list in as many as 11 courses and backward classes candidates in 15 courses. Speaking to newspersons, the AUCET convenor, S. Nana Rao, said that admissions would commence on June 11. Candidates need not apply again for admission to university campus colleges, PG centres and affiliated colleges. Admissions to all courses are centralised and will be made in Andhra University campus by principals of the university colleges concerned. Rank cards along with admission schedule would be despatched to candidates within a week, he said.
