HYDERABAD, MAY 29. The Chief Minister, Y. S .Rajasekhara Reddy, on Saturday directed officials to make efforts to activate the district-level and State-level coordination committees to curb illegal operation of motor vehicles. He reviewed the operation of various types of motor vehicles in the State, a press release issued by the Chief Minister's Office stated. Dr. Reddy said the Transport Department might initiate action to curb illegal operation of motor vehicles by controlling transportation of passengers in lorries. The violation of permit conditions by private stage carriers, by plying on routes beyond the permitted ones, as also by contract carriages, by picking up passengers en route, should be curbed, he observed.
