Big win for Aruna Sports CC
KARAIKUDI,
MAY 29.
An unbeaten 51 by G. Manikandan and good bowling by J. Kulanthaivelu (four for 31) helped Aruna Sports Cricket Club carve out an emphatic nine-wicket victory over Sekkalai Cricket Club in the Indian Bank-Sivagangai District Cricket Association `A' division league here recently.
The scores: (`A' division): Sekkalai CC 105 in 30 overs (C.S. Ashok Kumar 33, J. Kulanthaivelu four for 31) lost to Aruna Sports CC 109 for one in 10 overs (G. Manikandan 51 not out, Karai Ameen 26).
`B' division: Sivagangai CC 129 in 24 overs (Ganesh 26, Veerappan 33) lost to Big Birds CC 130 for four in 23 overs (Sodalaimuthu 36, Jeeva 25 not out).
`C' division: Vetripoonga CC 70 in 20 overs (Muthuveeran 27, Palaniappan five for 21, Santhanraj three for 13) lost to Telecom CC 72 for nine in 14 overs (Balaji 25 not out, Ramkumar four for 22, Vairam three for 18).
Jolly Rovers CC 27 in six overs (Senthil Kumar four for eight, Vairam three for seven) lost to Vetripoonga CC 29 for no loss.
