Mayekar-Shelar pair triumphs

MUMBAI, MAY 29. The weeklong regatta of the Naval Sailing Club concluded here on Saturday with Army Yachting Node's pair of Ninad Mayekar and Prasad Shelar winning the 420 class event of the Yachting Association of India (YAI) youth national (under-19) championship.

The pair won the tenth race and the title. Goa Yachting Association's Salil Sabir won the Laser class and the duo of Ashim Mongia and Amit Arvind the Enterprise class.

The results:

YAI Youth (under-19) National: (420 class) Final positions: 1. Ninad Mayekar & Prasad Shelar (AYN), 2. Neha Maheshwari & Shilpa Oberoi (INWTC), 3. Pallavi Naik/Rohini Rau (GYA);

Race 10: 1. Ninad Mayekar & Prasad Shelar, 2. Pallavi Naik & Rohini Rau, 3. Deepak Kumar & Sidharh Varman (TNSA)

Laser: Final positions and Race 10: 1. Salil Sabir (GYA), 2. Ajay Ray (TNSA), 3. G. Sandeep (TNSA).

Enterprise: 1. Ashim Mongia & Amit Arvind, 2. Naresh Yadav & G.L. Yadav (INWTC), 3. Dharmendra Singh & Joji Joseph (COE, Pune);

Race 10: 1. Naresh Yadav & G.L. Yadav, 2. Dharmendra Singh & Joji Joseph, 3. S.S. Chauhan & S. Sharma
