This Day That Age
A new radio receiving station is to be set up in Ceylon by the Voice of America. A hundred-acre site in a cinnamon plantation, within 25 miles of Colombo, has been inspected for this purpose and tests as to its suitability have already been carried out. The station is to be used jointly by Radio Ceylon and the Voice of America. Implementing the Ceylon-American broadcasting agreement, America constructed a transmitting station in 1951 within a few miles of Colombo.
